World Series of Comedy- July 17-20

This week the team at McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre is proud to once again be a satellite for the first round of contestants in the annual World Series of Comedy. That means this week, we need YOU! Every night we’ll feature different comedians, with a total of 40 individuals competing for a spot in The World Series of Comedy in St.Louis in September. Comedians advanced based on audience votes, so come out once, twice or every night to help determine who our top 3 comedians will be.

This is the 10th annual competition for The World Series of Comedy, which has become a launching pad for many professional and successful comedians world-wide. Your votes will help send three talented comedians into a pool of 101 contestants, all vying for that #1 spot in St.Louis. While judging is based on originality, stage presence and overall presentation, audience votes are also applied using a point system. The judges want to hear from you. Make sure you support your favorite comedian all the way to the winner’s circle!

 

We want to send the funniest, most entertaining acts to represent our area and our club. Make sure McCurdy’s is well-represented at the World Series of Comedy Competition in St.Louis! Be part of launching an up-and-coming comedian’s career and be able to say, “I was there at the beginning.”

 

The Conversation- What Is It and How Do You Get Some?

Do you ever leave one of our awesome shows wanting a little bit more? We hope so! But we also want to satisfy that desire to know more about our comedians. That’s where The Conversation comes in. In this podcast, we hang out backstage after a performer’s set and just talk. Not to be compared to an interview, this banter is an opportunity to get to know the real individual off stage and relaxed. We talk about everything from favorite sports teams to family life, and everything in between. Are they really as funny as they seem on stage? Listen here and find out for yourself!

 

Off The Clock- Find Out More About Your Favorite Comedians

In this live YouTube video, Les McCurdy brings the evening’s comedians on-stage for a casual interview. With a laid-back approach, comedians are asked about their careers, family life, growing up years, and hobbies. Les also takes questions from the audience, which gives the opportunity for candid and hilarious discussion. Watch your favorite comedian on Off The Clock and learn more about who they are on and off stage.
