Yakov Smirnoff  Mar. 3

Warm and endearingly funny, Yakov Smirnoff made a name for himself in the 1970s when he began performing stand-up comedy after bar-tending in the Catskills. An immigrant from Soviet Russia, Yakov quickly rose to fame with his loveable view of life, love and the wonders of the American lifestyle. His catch-phrase, “What a country!” earned him spots on “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson and numerous other television shows, including “Night Court” and his very own show. He also starred on the big screen in movies with Tom Hanks, Robin Williams and Jack Nicholson, just to name a few.

As an iconic stand-up comedian, movie star, best-selling author and PhD in Leadership from Pepperdine University, Yakov lives the life he used to dream of, blissfully happy and spreading his joy everywhere he goes. His new national tour invites audiences to enjoy his laughter-filled philosophy on life, love, family and country. Light-hearted and splendidly funny, Yakov will encourage you to envision a world in which sadness and tears are replaced with love and laughter. Come experience the joy and warm-hearted humor of Yakov Smirnoff this Tuesday at McCurdy’s!

Dusty Slay Mar. 4-8

As one of Variety’s Magazine’s Top 20 Comics to Watch in 2019, Dusty Slay proves that you can take the boy out of the trailer park, but you can’t take the trailer park out of the boy. With an irony and observational humor that belies his professed simple-mindedness, Dusty brings a witty humor to the stage like none other. Even though he mostly looks like a trucker from Tennessee, Dusty’s accolades say otherwise. He is officially the youngest person to ever perform stand-up comedy at the Grand Ole Opry Stage in Nashville, and has had numerous appearances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Comic Standing, and Laughs on Fox. He’s also been a regular on nationally syndicated radio programs, including Sirius XM, Pandora Radio, and The Bob and Tom Show.

Since Dusty approaches all of life as a series of experiences, he realizes that there’s plenty more to come. As long as life happens, there will be funny ways to look at it. Catch Dusty’s hilarious views on life and all of its idiosyncrasies this week, only at McCurdy’s!
