Kick The Bucket List Novotny & Carfi Oct. 23-27
The dynamic duo of Scott Novotny and John Carfi bring their fun, fresh style to the stage once again at McCurdy’s as our headlining act all week. Beginning their careers in the 70s, these seasoned veterans of comedy have toured the nation and truly made a name for themselves in every comedic venue, particularly among Baby Boomers. Scott owned and operated The Comedy Cabaret- Minneapolis’ first full time comedy room. John has been seen on Comedy Central and Entertainment Weekly, and was featured at the famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles. Adding music, videos, slides and goofball theatrics to the mix, this comedy team is not to be missed!
On Wednesday evening, be sure to stick around in our Green Room Lounge after the show for our Open Mic Night. Beginning at 9pm, this show features 10 amateur comedians performing 5 minute sets. Some professionals even stop by on occasion to work on new material. This is a great chance to see raw talent in its early stages! There’s no cover or minimum purchase, but audience members must be 18 with a valid picture ID.
Off The Clock Interview Oct 24
If you stop by on Thursday evening, you’ll enjoy a bonus treat when Les McCurdy joins the comedians on-stage for our Off The Clock interview. This 15-20 minute interview with the comedians is a great way for audience members to get to know them more personally. There’s also a Q & A portion with the audience, so bring your questions about who they are, where they come from and how they got started in comedy!
To learn even more about our past and present entertainers, be sure to check out our podcast, The Conversation. These backstage interviews with our favorite comedians is an awesome, candid glimpse into what they’re really like, what gets them excited about performing stand-up comedy, and where they’re hoping to go next. Our newest one features last week’s performers, Carmen Ciricillo, Devin Seabold, and Mike Stevens bantering with Les McCurdy about being the “construction comic” and how to make a name for yourself in the business of comedy.
Don’t miss some of the highest-quality comedy around! Come out to McCurdy’s this week to find the laughter you need to make it through the week. Escape from the daily grind and relax- we’ll take care of the rest!
