Our Humor Institute’s Comedy Bootcamp is showcasing our graduates this Wednesday evening and you won’t want to miss these fresh faces as they display their best work! Not only will Les McCurdy be hosting their big evening, he will be performing with them. Come out and support our newest graduates and enjoy some bright new routines!

Scott Novotny- March 21

Thursday night, come out and support one of our favorites, Scott Novotny. After 20 years in the business of comedy, Scott has created quite a loyal following, and we’re happy to be one of them! Scott’s professional journey has included being an actor and writer at the Brave New Workshop, being the owner/operator of The Comedy Cabaret, and writing for Saturday Night Live and the comic strip, Strange Brew. Scott brings his talent to a multitude of mediums, all for the sake of promoting great, clean comedy. His clean material and ability to engage a wide range of audiences makes him one of the most sought-after acts for corporate parties, awards banquets and conventions.

D.L. Hughley- March 22, 23, & 24  *SPECIAL EVENT*

This weekend, catch headliner D.L.Hughley as he turns just about every stereotype you can imagine on its head. Stopping just short of offending everyone in the room, D.L.’s sharp, witty commentary on the state of race relations and politics keeps things real and real funny. As one of the most popular and highly recognized stand-up comedians today, D.L. keeps live comedy as his main love while adding to his television, film and radio credits regularly.

Currently starring in his ninth stand-up comedy special, Clear, now airing on Showtime, D.L. can also be heard nationwide as host of his own radio show, The DL Hughley Show, which is nationally syndicated in over 60 cities, including New York.

As a writer, D.L. has seen success with the publication of two books, I Want You to Shut The F*ck Up and Black Man, White House: An Oral History Of The Obama Years. He is currently working on a third book for publication.

This fall, expect to see D.L. as part of the Comedy Get Down Tour, along with Cedric The Entertainer, George Lopez, and Eddie Griffin, when the tour turns into doc-reality series to air on BET and Comedy Central. But first, catch D.L. Hughley live this week, only at McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre!
