Comedy Greats

This week at McCurdy’s we are excited to welcome some serious veterans in the industry to our stage! Up first is Scott Novotny who, after 20 years in the business of comedy, has created quite a loyal following, especially in the midwest. His clean material and ability to engage a wide range of audiences makes him one of the most sought-after acts for corporate parties, awards banquets and conventions in that region. With a solid history as an actor and writer at the Brave New Workshop, as the owner/operator of The Comedy Cabaret, and writer for Saturday Night Live and the comic strip, Strange Brew, Scott brings his talent to a multitude of mediums, all for the sake of promoting great, clean comedy.

Later in the week, check out Bobby Collins, another tried-and-true comedian who has worked with some of the most talented entertainers alive. After rising through the fashion industry to the level of vice-president of Calvin Klein in the 1980s, Bobby left that industry to pursue his dream. Finding his calling in the world of comedy, he has performed with greats like Frank Sinatra, Cher, Julio Iglesias, and Dolly Parton, as well as friends in stand-up comedy like Chris Rock, Ray Romano, Drew Carey and Rosie O’Donnell. Regarded as a “comic’s comic,” Bobby brings a genuine love for life to the stage as he skillfully dismantles any and all socioeconomic, race, and age divides. As his loyal following grows, he continues to build relationships with new audiences everywhere he goes with his uproarious storytelling and effortless flair and charisma.

Catch these two comedy greats this week at McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre! Scott Novotny will be headlining on January 23-24, followed by Bobby Collins on January 25-26. We can’t wait for you to experience this much talent in one week!
