We’ll have our weekly open mic night that features local amateur and professional comedians, and we’re fund-raising for the community with our Leadership Sarasota night. It’s gonna be a fun week here at McCurdy’s so come out and join us- you’ll be glad you did!

Helen Keaney Feb. 19 & 20

This week we welcome Helen Keaney to our stage. This amazing woman is making a name for herself in multiple venues and girl stays busy! Not only does she host a Prime Time spot on HSN, she also hosts events on TBS, GSN, Discovery Health, and Style Network. She’s the voice of the spunky female lead on the popular game “Pandemonium,” and has been seen in the feature film “Tooth Fairy 2” with Larry the Cable Guy. But we love her most for her witty, often improvisational stand-up comedy! After getting her start at The Boston Comedy Club and The Comic Strip, Helen has honed her skills and brought them to NBC’s “The John Larroquette Show,” HBO’s “Not Necessarily the News” with Dennis Miller, and USA’s “Lost on Earth.” Her stand-up appearances include A&E’s “An Evening at the Improv,” Lifetime’s “Girl’s Night Out,” VH-1’s “Stand-up Spotlight,” NBC’s “Friday Night,” and Comedy Central’s “Make Me Laugh.” With a balanced mix of bits, stories and improvisation, Helen’s style, as well as her approach to life, can only be described as fearless. Come see for yourself what makes this go-getter the woman to watch when she graces our stage this Wednesday and Thursday at McCurdy’s!
