Several years ago, as he was judging the Boston Comedy Competition, Les encountered a great up and coming comedian who was one of the top ten finalists in the competition. Les booked him as a supporting act for the next week’s New Year’s Eve show, which would be this young man’s very first road gig. At just 21, and looking even younger, with his baby face he encountered some difficulty getting into McCurdy’s. The doorman required ID. The manager doubted he was actually one of the comedians- he looked too young. A phone call to Les cleared everything up, and the young comedian was on his way.

Shane Mauss has less static walking through stage doors now and finds himself performing in front of sold-out audiences frequently.

Shane became a national headliner after winning ‘Best Stand-Up’ at The HBO US Comedy Arts Festival. This opened doors to appearances on Jimmy Kimmel, Showtime, Comedy Central ‘Presents’ and ‘This Is Not Happening,’ not to mention five appearances on Conan, including his TV debut.

Shane has a 5-star podcast called ‘Here We Are’ in which he interviews scientists from around the world. He invites anyone with an open mind, a desire to know more about psychedelics, or simply interested in a smart spin on comedy to check out his show. Come see Shane this week at McCurdy’s and find out for yourself what makes this uniquely hilarious show so distinct.
