Enjoy a home-grown treat this week as McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre welcomes JB Ball back to our stage! Raised in Tampa, JB loves FL and returns whenever he can, crediting this area with the clubs that gave him his start- especially our very own Les McCurdy, who was a judge when JB won Florida’s Funniest Comic. With observations about everything from hip-hop culture to mix tapes to weightlifting class in high school, JB Ball has a commentary that is rooted in deep truth to connect with this audience.

 

Charming and slightly self-deprecating, JB reels his audience in then surprises them with a deceivingly edgy look at current culture. His observations are the kind that make you laugh right before engaging you in a deeper debate. JB’s hysterical humor has landed him appearances on MTV, CBS, Comcast, Sirius XM Satellite Radio, and a 2013 film The Investigator. JB was the winner of the 2014 Trial By Laughter Comedy Fest and recently won the title of Florida’s Funniest Comic. Raised by a conspiracy theorist from the country and a performer from the city, JB Ball is becoming known for fishing out the ridiculous and putting it on display.
