Summertime!

It is Summertime and McCurdy’s is non-stop this summer!

We have a jam-packed schedule featuring tons of shows and events. There’s no good reason to miss out on the fun this month- choose a favorite or keep coming back for more.  With this many shows and events, there’s definitely something for everyone.

First up, this week we welcome Al Ernst back to his roots. After years on TV, numerous radio programs including The Blue Collar Network on Sirius/XM radio, and as Carnival Cruise Lines’ “Entertainer of the Year,” Al still recognizes McCurdy’s as the place where he got his big break in 1991, launching his career. Growing up in Sarasota, Al was one of the first boys to receive a Big Brother through the Boys and Girls Club in the area. Having lived an eclectic life, including roles such as a bat boy for the Chicago White Sox and a WWF Live Wrestler, Al truly knows what he’s talking about in his show, “A View From The Cheap Seats.” Come out this week to experience Al’s brand of humor that takes it down a notch to laugh at the daily nuances of regular life.

Coming up on August 14th, don’t miss our uniquely hilarious Wigs and Wit Performance. A battle of wits wages between local stand-up comedians and the area’s most fabulous drag queens, culminating in a stand-off that includes one comic and one drag queen trading performance styles. Hosted by Jeff Klein and Miss Beneva Fruitville, this show needs you, the audience, to determine the grand prize winner by popular vote at the end of the evening!

Finally, stay tuned for more details about the newest Senior Sensation to hit Florida’s gated communities since golf carts! Scott Novotny and John Carfi have teamed up to create a show geared towards baby boomers, “Kick The Bucket List- The World According to AARP,” and it’s making a splash. Check back next week to hear more and be sure to catch their show first at McCurdy’s August 8-12.
